PORPA’s core mission is to promote SAFE boating. We do this in a number of ways:
- Promoting safety training from recognized institutions like World Rowing.
- Public education like the boater safety course we sponsored
- Providing safety boats for events
- Requiring demonstrated safety knowledge and skill before participating in any PORPA event
- Encouraging each other to continually improve our skills and awareness
- Association's Certifications for type of activity

Coxwains
Our Coxwains are our onsite safety leaders which is why we train them to always be aware of Safety Issues around them.
