Years of working cooperativley with the US Army Corps of Engineers has paid off! On Saturday 23 July 2022, PORPA and Corps staff cut a red ribbon to officially open the new sandy beach non-motorized watercraft launch area at the Priest River Recreation Area (aka Mudhole).

This launch area recogizes the need for a facility to accomodate the needs of non-motorized boaters and, according to ACOE Recreation Specialist, Andrew Huddleston, the launch has attracted an huge number grateful users.

The new launch area is on the down stream side of the swim area, adjacent to the motorized boat launch and provides a safe beach area to launch kayaks, canoes, SUP's, and rowing shells without interfering with swimmers or motorized craft.  We applaud the Corps for thier efforts!
