PORPA's eight person shell the Arthur Ericsson's first time on the water in two years!

Gayne Sears

Nine POPRA members enyoyed a training row on the calm waters of the Pend Oreille this first Saturday of a spectacular Inland NW September. From bow: Gayne, Stan, Doug (1st time sweep), Okju, Erwin, Curt, Peggy, Val and cox Jace, rowed as fours, sixes and 2K all eight. We even rowed thoruhg some pretty rolling wakes. Not bad for the first big boat outing in two years! PORPA thanks the US Army Corps of Engineers for partnering with us to develop the sandy, shallow, and gradual non-motortized boat launch area at the Prist River Recreation Area (aka the Mudhole). Launching here is so much safer than launching form the motorized boat ramp (where we needed a ladder to get in the boat becuse it was more than waist deep). All in all a great outing!
