Two last outings in October
As the season is winding down, we did manage to get two outings to Spirit Lake. The first one was just before the snow storm and the second one after the snow cleared and we got some sun.
The first one was with Okju on the Star, Erwin on the Maas and Gayne with her newly acquired Peinert 26 (now known as the Kaniksu). We rowed about 7000 mtrs and then stopped for burgers at Meesy's (best in N. idaho according to their sign).
The second one came as a surprise since it was after we received 8" of snow in Priest River, demobilized all the equipment from the Mudhole (yes, with snow) and moved the boats and trailer to winter storage. When we saw Thursday's forecast, we realized that we had a last chance to row this season so we got the Star, the Maas and the Warren out of storage and headed back to Spirit Lake. This time we did get 10k in with bright sunshine the whole time. It did get a bit breezy towards the end but everything turned out great (water was very cold, but we did not have to get in deep to launch).
Now all equipment is back in storage for the winter (unless we get the urge again if there is another beautiful day).
